Sony Pictures Entertainment demanded that media outlets not use or publish data obtained by hackers who infiltrated the company’s computer systems about a month ago. In a three-page letter to the media, Sony said the documents were stolen and that the studio “does not consent” to the media’s “possession, review, copying, dissemination, publication, uploading, downloading or making any use” of the information. The move follows a wave of damaging reports stemming from the leaked data. Aaron Sorkin, a screenwriter and playwright, penned an op-ed Monday stating that the press is helping the Sony hackers by feeding off the information. Some would argue that the media are simply doing their job.Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.
